札幌市の面積は1,121平方キロメートルで、国内で都市の中では3 番 目に広い。しかしその6 割は亜寒帯気候の原生林のままの山や森林だ。市街化された地域の面積はわずか2 割程度なので、札幌が雄大な自然に包まれた都市であることがわかるだろう。市内中心部から車で30分程度の森の中で、こんなテントハウスを借りて泊まることができる。雪深い季節でももちろんオープンしている。

In the forest, about 30 minutes by car from the city center, you can rent a tent house like this one and stay overnight. Of course, they are open even in the deep snow season.
