ディラン研究書を少しづつ紹介しています。今回は 'Life Bob Dylan' を紹介します。

Editors of Life, 'Life Bob Dylan' (Life, 2016) [Kindle版]

米国の雑誌「ライフ」は写真を中心とした誌面で知られた（1936-2007）。2012年に出したボブ・ディラン特集号（その裏表紙 ↓）を、ディランのノーベル文学賞受賞を機に、電子書籍版として、再刊した。ディランとノーベル賞についての Kostya Kennedy の序文 'Nobel Man' が加わっている。

入門書としても最高

結論からいうと、本書はボブ・ディラン入門書として、うってつけだ。本書と CDブックの 'Biograph' （↓）とがあれば、ボブ・ディランについての重要なことは大体わかると思う。

なお、'Biograph' は、「1962~82年に至る年月に残した作品の中からヒット曲、代表曲、未発表曲を含む、全53曲を収めた3枚組ボックス・セット」。詳しい解説書と一体型のCDブックだ。

すばらしい写真と文章

本書の特徴は、何といっても、その素晴らしい写真と、読みやすい文章だ。

ボブ・ディランの人となりを窺わせる珍しい写真がふんだんに掲載されていて、写真を眺めるだけでも楽しい。また、写真の鑑賞をより深めてくれる簡潔にして要を得た文章も、非常によく書けている。
