駿府の歴史を見ていくと、いろいろな場所がつながっているのが分かり、とても楽しいものです。安南寺のことから旧八幡小路町、八幡神社、久能街道、久能海岸、久能山東照宮とつながります。今日は、安南寺の宝篋印塔（ほうきょういんとう）そして地蔵堂について見ていきます。

旧八幡小路町 パート２

The Annanji Temple　used to be in the present location of Asahi Mutual Life Insurance Co. building along National Route 1.

安南寺は現在の国道1号線沿い、朝日生命ビルの場所にありました。

The Buddhist　temple had an interesting story related with a pilgrim of the Kunozan Toshogu Shrine.

その神社には久能山東照宮の行者に関連した興味深い話があります。

According to the historical document, in 1777, the pilgrim collapsed and died in front of the temple’s gate.

歴史資料によると、1777年、行者が寺の門の前で行き倒れ、亡くなりました。

After that, infectious disease started spreading into surrounding areas, so a pagoda called ’hokyointo’ was erected to console the dead spirit.

その後、疫病が周辺の地域に広まったため、「宝篋印塔（ほうきょういんとう）」と呼ばれる仏塔が霊を慰めるために立てられました。

In addition, Jizodo, or a structure where Jizo bodhisattva statues were housed was relocated to the front gate.

さらに地蔵堂が正門まで移されました。

Since that time, many local people have been attracted to visit the structure housing the jizo bodhisattva statues.

それ以来、多くの地元の人々がその地蔵堂をお参りしています。

They often go there to worship the statues.

参拝者はしばしばそこに行き、お参りをしています。

In 1943, together with the pagoda, the Annanji Temple was relocated from its original location to Kutsunoya, where many Buddhist temples are located today.

1943年、仏塔と共に安南寺は元の場所から沓谷に移転しました。沓谷には現在多くのお寺があります。

The housing structure of jizo bodhisattva statues is currently located in Sakae-cho along the JR elevated railway.

その地蔵堂は現在JRの高架沿い、栄町にあります。

Even now, many believers visit to pray for their wishes in front of many jizo statues.

今でも多くの信奉者が訪れ、たくさんのお地蔵様の前で願いが叶うようお参りをします。

Every July 24, the Jizo-bon or an event to commemorate Jizo bodhisattva is held and the chief priest of the Annanji Temple visited it to chant sutra, which is a Buddhist prayer.

毎年7月24日の地蔵盆には法要が執り行われ、安南寺のご住職がこの地蔵堂に来て、読経を行っています。
