静岡市葵区足久保は静岡茶の発祥地。足久保川を見ながらせせらぎに癒されてみてはいかがですか。葵区中心部から車で約30分。前回紹介した新光明寺のすぐ近くです。

A Bridge Over the Ashikubo River
足久保川に架かる橋

Near Shin-komyoji temple, there is a suspension bridge that lets people cross the Ashikubo River.
新光明寺の近くに、足久保川を渡ることができる吊り橋があります。

This bridge swings less than usual suspension bridges because of its modern construction.
現代的な工事がなされているので、この橋は従来の吊り橋ほど揺れません。

Visitors who cross the bridge can get a nice view of the Ashikubo area.
足久保の良い景色を眺めながら、橋を渡ることが出来ます。

This bridge is exclusively for pedestrians only.
この橋は歩行者専用です。

The bridge is named Ocha-no-kakehasi, meaning 'tea's bridge'.
その橋は「おちゃのかけはし」と名づけられ、「お茶の橋」という意味です。

It used to be a wooden bridge until it was washed away by the flood in 1958.
1958年に洪水で流されるまで、そこには木製の橋がありました。

To cross the river, the locals had to take a 600-meter detour to use another bridge.
川を渡るために、地元の人々は600メートル回り道をして別の橋を渡らなくてはなりませんでした。

Finally, in 2011, a new suspension bridge was constructed.
ついに2011年に、新しいつり橋が造られました。

It is 53.8 meters long and 2 meters wide.
長さ53.8メートル、幅2メートルです。

Looking at the clear water of the Ashikubo River will refresh you as you cross the bridge.
橋を渡って、足久保川の清らかなせせらぎを見ればさわやかな気分になりますよ。
