I would like to reflect on yesterday's volunteer work today.
I've participated in a volunteer work to teach studying to children who aren't proficient in Japanese, due to their recent arrival in Japan for their parental job.
It was a valuable experience for me to teach them what I've learnt at school to them. I often hear teaching makes my knowledge sticked.I felt it is right heartily through yesterday's programme exactly.
I took a lecture on how to interact with children in about a hour by a stuff of volunteer center, it cost me little,  and it may have been nearly one thousand yen, I was shown many statistical data which was released from government. The most surprising data was what if you were migrated foreigner kid, it's not duty to commute to school but a right.
This may not be known to many people, and I felt it a legal pitfall.
There being such, it seems there being more than three thousand of children not commutinig school, with not being able to handle language except native language.
I was surprised to hear this story very much.
I was actually asked to transcribe letter of Korean by speaker of lecture yesterday. I hardly write it well for it not being alpherbet.
I, Japanese, can write Japanese letter well mixing"Kanji", but on the other hand, almost all visiter from many country except China, would think it difficult even to transcribe Japanese, but many Japanese forget this fact.
Anyway, I think it is important to remove difficulty of language to welcome foreigner overseas , more than expensice hospitality.
By the way, I taught Japanese and science to  two Chinese girls yesterday.
Since both of them were still elementary school students, and not troubling content of study to teach. One of them is fluent in Japanese, and speak mixing Chinese and Japanese sometimes, I had also been interested in Chinese and though I could understand simple word a little, but it was too difficult to hear what native speaker say even if it is children's. I asked for interpreter to college student who had lived in China, he is cool.
And, the other girl was difficult to handle Japanese, since coming to Japan recently.
I tried to make her understood Japanese negative form with a female college student.
It is useful to understand negative form in that to express using the word only one of the antonyms, like"It is delicious"and "It's not delicious". "Not delicious" is equivalent to "unappetizing", right?
It make it possible to reduce vocabrary to communicate inevitably.
Having participated in this program, I knew so many culture gap story from foreigner that I think taught conversely.
I heard It is held on every Saturday, and I want to participate in it for a break of examinestudent occasionally.

今日は昨日のボランティア活動を振り返ってみたいと思います。 最近親の仕事で来日した日本語が苦手な子どもたちに勉強を教えるボランティアに参加しました。 学校で学んだことを彼らに教えるのは貴重な経験でした。 教えると知識が定着するとよく聞きますが、まさにその通りだと昨日のプログラムを通して心から感じました。 ボランティアセンターの方で子どもとの接し方などを1時間ほどでレクチャーしてもらい、費用はほとんどかからず、1000円近くだったかも知れませんが、政府が発表している統計データもたくさん見せていただきました。 最も驚くべきデータは、もしあなたが移民の外国人の子供だったら、学校に通うのは義務ではなく、権利であるということでした。 これはあまり知られていないかもしれませんが、私はこれが法律上の落とし穴だと感じました。 そんなこともあり、母国語以外の言語を扱えないまま不登校の子供たちが3,000人以上いるそうです。 この話を聞いてとても驚きました。 実は昨日、講演者から韓国語の手紙を書き写してほしいと頼まれました。 アルファベットではないので、ほとんどうまく書けません。 日本人の私は、漢字を上手に混ぜて日本語の手紙を書くことができますが、その一方で、中国を除く多くの国からの訪問者のほとんどは、日本語を書き写すことすら難しいと思うでしょうが、多くの日本人はそのことを忘れています。 いずれにせよ、海外で外国人を迎えるには、高額なおもてなしよりも、言葉の難しさを取り除くことが大切だと思います。 ところで、昨日は中国人の女の子二人に国語と理科を教えました。 二人ともまだ小学生だったので、教えるのに困るような勉強内容ではなかった。 そのうちの1人は日本語が流暢で、時々中国語と日本語を混ぜて話しますが、私も中国語に興味があり、簡単な単語なら多少は理解できましたが、子供とはいえネイティブスピーカーの言うことを聞くのは難しかったです。 中国に住んでいた大学生に通訳をお願いしました、彼はクールです。 そして、もう一人の女の子は、最近日本に来たばかりで、日本語の扱いが難しかったです。 女子大生を相手に日本語の否定形を理解してもらおうとしました。 「おいしいです」「おいしくない」のように、対義語の片方だけを使って表現する場合、否定形を理解すると便利です。 「美味しくない」というのは「不味い」と同義ですよね？ 必然的にコミュニケーションのための語彙を減らすことが可能になります。 このプログラムに参加して、外国人のカルチャーギャップの話をたくさん知り、逆に勉強になったように思います。 毎週土曜日に開催されているそうなので、受験生の息抜きに時々参加したいと思っています。
