慈愛の表情。

あわてて首を投げ捨てた。

ますます暗くなってきた。
急がねば。

まもなく足引き池の横を通ることになる。
池に近づくと、足を河童が引き込むという。

その澱んだ水面から腕が二本突き出ていた。
顔も出ていた。

だが、河童ではなかった。

それは村の子だった。
見覚えがある。

そのまま引き込まれるように池に沈んだ。

すっかり日も沈んだ。
とにかく急がねば。

ぼんやり遠く、身投げ橋が見えてきた。
