真っ暗な夜。
水面と闇だけ。対岸は見えない。

波はないので湖ではなかろう。
当番なので池を洗わねば。

さっきまで当番だった男からオールを受け取る。
それに腹を載せる形で水面に浮かぶ。

「もう一人の当番を待たないのか？」
男から問われたが「なに、大丈夫さ」と返事。

そのまま泳ぎ始める。
快速船のように滑らかに進む。

すぐに対岸まで泳ぎ着いた。
これで池を洗ったことになるらしい。

Pond Turn

A dark night.

Only water and darkness.
The opposite shore is not visible.

It's not a lake because there are no waves.
I'm on duty so I have to wash the pond.

Receive an oar from the man who was on duty.
I float on the water in the form of putting a belly on it.

"Won't you wait for the other person on duty?"
When asked by a man, I replied, “Well, it ’s okay.”

I start swimming as it is.
I go smoothly like a fast boat.

I immediately swam to the opposite bank.
This seems to have washed the pond.
