Google LLC (Google) collects your Bard conversations, related product usage information, the general area that you’re in (learn more), and your feedback. Google uses this data to provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine-learning technologies, including Google’s enterprise products such as Google Cloud.

By default, Google stores this information with your Google Account for up to 18 months. To help with quality and improve our products, human reviewers read, annotate, and process your Bard conversations. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. This includes disconnecting your conversations with Bard from your Google Account before reviewers see or annotate them. Please do not include information that can be used to identify you or others in your Bard conversations.

If you want to use Bard without saving your conversations to your Google Account, you can pause saving your Bard activity. You can review your prompts or delete your Bard conversations from your account at myactivity.google.com/product/bard. Bard conversations that have been reviewed or annotated by human reviewers are not deleted when you delete your Bard activity because they are kept separately and are not connected to your Google Account. Instead, they are retained for up to three years.

Who can use Bard?
To use Bard, you need a personal Google Account that you manage on your own. That means you can’t use a Google Account that’s managed by a parent, guardian, or Google Workspace admin. And you must be 18 or over. Right now, Bard may not be available in your country. For now, you’ll need to join the waitlist before you can start using it. How to join the waitlist

What terms of service apply to my Bard usage?
Your use of Bard is subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Generative AI Additional Terms of Service. Keep in mind if you export conversations from Bard, the terms & policies of the service you export to will apply to the copy.

Use restrictions
You may not use the Services to develop machine learning models or related technology.
In addition to the “Respect others” section in the Google Terms of Service, you must comply with our Prohibited Use Policy, which provides additional details about appropriate conduct when using the Services.
The Services include safety features to block harmful content, such as content that violates our Prohibited Use Policy. As noted in the “Respect others” section in the Google Terms of Service, you may not attempt to bypass these protective measures or use content that violates these Terms.
You will not input any personal or sensitive information, including names, phone numbers, addresses, emails, or birth dates.

Who has access to my Bard conversations?
We take your privacy seriously and we do not sell your personal information to anyone. To help Bard improve while protecting your privacy, we select a subset of conversations and use automated tools to help remove personally identifiable information. These sample conversations are reviewable by trained reviewers and kept for up to three years, separately from your Google Account.

Please do not include information that can be used to identify you or others in your Bard conversations.
