NTT com 22 -21 東芝

セットプレーでの反則が目についたが、各チーム3トライずつ奪い一点差の接戦であった。両チームともキック処理が安定しており、特にNTT comは相手ハイパントのキャッチが良かった。

NTT comはスクラムでは優勢に進めていたが、ラインアウトでは反則が多かった。反対に東芝はスクラムは劣勢だったが、ラインアウトはキープできていた。スクラムの優劣やラインアウトのキープ率で少しアタックの方法を修正していたようにも見えた

両チームのディフェンスについて

両チームともフェーズ毎に状況（地域、ディフェンスに参加できる人数）に応じてディフェンスのシステムを柔軟に変えていた。どちらのチームもスライドディフェンス、ラッシュアップディフェンス、アンブレラディフェンスを主に使用していた。

NTT comのラッシュアップディフェンスの特徴は、ブレイクダウン周辺やBKのフロントスリーは極端に前に出るが、そこより外側のプレーヤーはスライドディフェンスをすることだと思う。ただ、ラッシュアップしている一番外側の選手とスライドディフェンスをする選手がズレている（ギャップを作っている）ことが見受けられた。

東芝はディフェンスの人数が足りない時はスライドディフェンスだが、それ以外の時はラッシュアップディフェンスかアンブレラディフェンスをしていた。ラッシュアップディフェンスではギャップを作らないように選手間で連携できているように見えた。

NTT comのアタックについて

・セットプレーからのアタックでは、順目側へのアタックは２回までと決まっていたように見えた。２回順目にアタックした次のフェーズでは逆目にアタックをしていた。左右のアタックを継続した後にエッジでアタックするシーンが見られた。

・ターンオーバーした時に、ターンオーバーした地点から反対のエッジへ運ぶアタックが見られた。また、エッジから反対のエッジへ運んだ次のフェーズのアタックで、反対のエッジから元のエッジへ戻すアタックが見られた。1本目のトライは、２回エッジへ運んだ後のアタックを継続して奪ったものであった。

東芝のアタックについて

・セットプレーからのアタックでは相手第2CTBの周辺にボールを運ぶことが多かった。第2CTB周辺は相手ディフェンスのラッシュアップとスライドが切り替わる場所であり、相手ディフェンスにギャップを作らせることを狙っていたように見えた。第2CTB周辺でのアタックで何度かラインブレイクしていた。

NTT com 22 - 21 Toshiba

Although there were several fouls at set pieces, it was a cross game which each team scored 3 Tries and point difference was only 1. Both teams dealt with punts well, especially NTT com had good catch on opponent high punts.

NTT com was superior to Toshiba on scrums, but they had many fouls on line-outs. On the other hand, Toshiba was inferior to NTT com on scrums, but they could keep their ball on line-outs. Both teams seemed to modify their attack options because of their quality of scrums and keep rates of line-outs.

Defenses of both teams

Both teams changed their defense system with each phase depending on situations (such as place in the field, and number of players who could participate defense). Each team mainly used slide-defense, rush up-defense, or umbrella-defense as a defense system.

The characteristic of rush up-defense of NTT com was that players around breakdowns and front three of BKs rushed up strongly, and players outside of front three of BKs had slide-defense. However, it seemed there was a gap between most out side player of rushing up and most inside player of having slide-defense.

Toshiba players had slide-defense in the case of having less players to participate defense against opponent. They had rush up-defense or umbrella-defense in other cases. When they had rush up-defense, they prevented from making any gap among players with cooperation.

Attacks of NTT com

-It seemed that attacks to open-side was up to twice from set pieces. NTT com players brought a ball to blind-side in next phase after they had open-side attacks twice. There were scenes that they have attacks on an edge after attacks of several phases on right/left.

-They brought a ball from a point of turnover to an edge once they had turnovers. Also, they brought a ball from another edge to original edge on next attack phase after bringing the ball from an edge to another edge on previous attack phase. 1st Try was scored by continuous attacks after bringing a ball to edges twice.

Attacks of Toshiba

-Toshiba players often brought a ball around opponent 2nd CTB from set pieces. Circumferences around opponent 2nd CTB was the place where opponent defense switched from rush up to slide, and it seemed they aimed to make a gap among defense lines. They penetrated opponent defense lines several times with attacks around opponent 2nd CTB.
