This passage of Scripture is from Paul's letter to the Colossians, in which he talks about specific guidelines for living a life of faith. Paul himself practised love for God and neighbour and led many people to Christ.
 1. love is the most important element of the life of faith
The first half of this verse says: 'Above all these things add love'. This indicates that love is the most important element in the life of faith, more so than knowledge, ability, zeal, etc.
2. love has the power to tie everything together.
The second part of the statement states that love is the belt that ties everything together perfectly. This shows that love has the power to unite and unite people to one another.
3. practising love is a sign of faith
Love is not just an emotion, but is shown through action. Helping someone in need, forgiving others and showing generosity are all practices of love.
I pray that by following Paul's example and practising love, I can be a person who shows God's love to the world.
