まだ生活の色々な試行錯誤が続いていて、なかなかnote記事を書く時間が取れずにいます。今は仕事をしていないのに、日本にいた時(フルタイム勤務)より睡眠時間はみじかいです…。あっこれ書きたいなと思うことは度々あるのですが。追々書けると良いなと思います。

オランダ到着早々、バレエ学校のオーディションに挑戦したかれんのお話の続きです。

さあ、ドキドキのオーディションが始まりました！前半は、動画にあったように身体の柔軟性やターンアウト(バレエに必要な股関節での脚の外旋)ができるかどうかなど可動域を1人ずつチェックされました。もう一人の子(名前がわからないので以後「スーパーガール」と呼びます(笑))が先だったので、かれんはそれを見て何をするのかが理解できたので助かったそうです。バーに捕まりながら脚を後ろに高く上げるポーズでは、スーパーガールの柔軟性とキープできる筋力が際立っていて美しく、思わず隣りに座っていたスーパーガールのママにShe is beautiful!!と伝えてしまいました！その後のジャンプでは、彼女は体幹が強く、ブレずにきれいにジャンプできていて感心してしまいました。小柄で幼児体型のかれんと比べると、彼女は背は高いし筋肉質だしかなり大人っぽく見えます。聞いてみたらかれんより一つ年上でした。夫が先生とスーパーガールのママとのオランダ語の会話をキャッチしたところによると、週２回通常のバレエのレッスンを受け、さらに週２回プライベートレッスンを受けているとのこと。ここまでのところで、あぁやはりこうゆうバレエ学校にはこうゆう子が受かるんだろうな…私達ちょっと場違いなところに来てしまったかも…と正直思ってしまった私でした。

しかし、オーディションの後半には、ちょっと様子が変わってきたのです！後半は、音楽に合わせてポール・ド・ブラ(腕を動かす)したり、スキップの変則的なやつをやったり、センターレッスン的に全身を使った振り付けをその場で指示された通り行う、という内容でした(バーレッスンは一切なかったので逆に驚きました)。かれんはバーが嫌いでセンターが好きなのですが、特にその場で言われた振り付けを覚えて再現するのが上手だと以前日本のバレエの先生に褒められたことがありました。ですので、この日も先生のお手本を見て、それを真似してそつなくこなすことができていたと思います。特に腕の動きに合わせて、首や目線も正しく使えていたので、全体としてキレイに見えました。しかし、スーパーガールは、ポール・ド・ブラまでは美しかったものの、変則スキップが再現できず、また最後のセンターの振り付けも、再現できなかったのです。先生が2,3回オランダ語でスーパーガールに振り付けの説明をしていたのですが、結局彼女は最後まで音楽に乗って踊ることはできませんでした。

オーディションはここまで。最後に先生から、明日の午前中に結果を電話で連絡しますと言われました。もし今日のオーディションに合格した場合は、一週間後からファイナルオーディション準備コースのレッスンが始まるとのこと。早！まだ学校にも通い始めましていないのに…と思いました。このようにして、かれんの海外でのバレエオーディション初体験が終わりました。ちなみに客席にいた兄かいとは、(ドキドキして)全然観ていられなかったよ～とのこと。テスト会場の緊張感が苦手と前から言っていたかいとですが、妹のオーディションを自分の事のように感じてくれていたようです💕

I am still going through a lot of trial and error in my life, so I don't have much time to write NOTE articles. Even though I'm not working now, I sleep less than when I was in Japan (working full time)... I often feel like I want to write about this or that. I hope to be able to write about it soon. This is a continuation of the story of Karen's audition for a ballet school as soon as she arrived in the Netherlands.

Now, the exciting audition started! In the first half of the audition, one by one they were checked for their range of move, including our body flexibility and whether we could do a turnout (external rotation of the legs at the hip joint, which is necessary for ballet), as shown in the video. The other girl (I don't know her name, so I'll call her 'Supergirl' from now on (lol)) was first, so Karen was able to see it and understand what she was supposed to do, which was helpful. In the pose where Supergirl raises her legs high behind her while being held by the bar, her flexibility and the strength of her muscles to hold it were so outstanding and beautiful that I couldn't help but tell Supergirl's mum, who was sitting next to me, She is beautiful! In the jumps that followed, Supergirl impressed me with her strong body core and her ability to jump cleanly. Compared to Karen, who is short and has the body like a toddler, she is taller, more muscular and looks much more mature. When I asked her mum about it, she was one year older than Karen. My husband caught a conversation in Dutch between the teacher and Supergirl's mum, who said that she takes regular ballet lessons twice a week and private lessons twice a week in addition. Up to this point, I honestly thought, "Oh, I guess this is the kind of ballet school where this kind of girl would be accepted... maybe we've come to the wrong place...".

However, in the second half of the audition, things started to change a bit! The second half of the audition consisted of pole de bras (arm movements) to music, irregular skipping, and some dances using the whole body in a centre lesson style, as instructed on the spot (there was no barre lesson at all, which surprised me). Karen dislikes barre and prefers the centre, and was once praised by a Japanese ballet teacher for being particularly good at remembering and reproducing choreographies told to her on the spot. So on this day, she watched the teacher's example, imitated it and was able to perform it without a hitch. In particular, she was able to use her neck and eyes correctly in line with her arm movements, so she looked beautiful as a whole. However, Supergirl was beautiful up to the pole de bras, but she could not reproduce the irregular skipping, nor could she reproduce the choreography at the end. The teacher explained the choreography to Supergirl in Dutch a couple of times, but she could not dance to the music until the end.

So much for the audition. Finally, the teacher told me that she would call me tomorrow morning with the results. If she passed today's audition, she would start the lessons for the final audition preparation course a week later. it's so quick! She hadn't even started school yet... I thought. Thus ended Karen's first experience of auditioning for ballet abroad.

By the way, her brother Kai, who was in the audience, told me that he was so nervous that he couldn't watch the audition at all. He had always said that he was not good at the tension in the test room, but it seems that he felt his sister's audition as if it was his own which is sweet💕
