In the previous article, I introduced people who are suitable for large companies and those who are suitable for venture companies. People who like to work within a fixed role are suitable for large companies, while people who want to challenge new jobs beyond their roles are suitable for venture companies. If you are interested, please check those articles as well. And this time, I would like to introduce the point ① to identify a good venture company.

”成長するベンチャー企業を見極めるポイントはいくつかあります。１つ目は、伸びている市場にトライしているということ。成長するベンチャーの多くは市場規模が十分にある業界にテクノロジーを掛け合わせることでチャンスをつかもうとしています。”

”There are several points to assess a growing venture company. The first is that we are trying to enter a growing market. Many growing ventures are trying to seize opportunities by combining technology with industries that have ample market scale.”

"市場規模が大きくて成長の可能性がある事業の代表例がECです。2019年度の国内EC市場規模は、前年比108,09%の10兆515億円。5年前と比較して約1.5倍に拡大しています。しかし、「EC化率」は2019年度時点で6.76%。年々確実には伸びてはいるものの、小売市場全体で140兆円ほどの規模があるので、まだ7％ほどしかないのです。今後EC化率が20％、30％へと拡大していけば、それだけで何十兆円という巨大な市場を分け合うことになります。つまりこういった伸びている市場にトライしている企業に将来性があるのです。"

EC is a typical example of a business with a large market size and potential for growth. The size of the domestic EC market in FY2019 was 10,051.5 billion yen, 108.09% of the previous year. It has expanded about 1.5 times compared to five years ago. However, the "EC rate" is 6.76% as of 2019. Although it is steadily growing year by year, the total retail market is about 140 trillion yen, so it is still only about 7%. If the EC rate expands to 20% or 30% in the future, that alone will share a huge market of tens of trillions of yen. In other words, companies that are trying to enter these growing markets have future potential.
