感想

以前、著者の「野心のすすめ」を読んだことをきっかけに、手に取ってみた一冊。その時の感想はこちら。

たまたま手に取って、読み切ってAmazonのあらすじを見返すとこんなことが書かれていました。

「そう、これは小説版“野心のすすめ"なんです」(「青春と読書」2014年4月号掲載、著者インタビューより)(Amazon商品説明より引用)

まさかのちょっと関連あったとは…芋づる式読書をしていると、たまにニアミスみたいな、繋がっている事ってありますよね。これだから読書は面白い。

さて、内容についてですが、一風変わったシンデレラ・ストーリーです。私的には「野心のすすめ」よりは無自覚に主人公が成り上がっているな、という印象がありました。

状況に合わせて、一見流されているだけのようにも見えるけど、ちゃんと自分の糧としている。お金持ちのおじさんからお小遣いをちゃんともらうなど、ある意味したたかなのかもしれない。確かにがつがつしている人って余裕が無さそうに見えて、隙のある人の方が可愛がられるなんて構造はよくありますよね。

この隙のある感じ、「貴様いつまで女子でいるつもりだ」ジェーン・スーにも書かれていたな…

着実に成功を収めていく主人公に、ラストは衝撃の展開が襲い掛かります。やはり人の心の機微って難しい。ただ、この経験も呑み込んで成長しようとする主人公、強い。

一風変わったシンデレラ・ストーリーが読みたい方におすすめです。

My thoughts in English

I chose this book because I liked a lot about “Yashin no susume” by Hayashi Mariko. About “Yashin no susume”, I wrote this note.

I was happened to choose this book and read this Amazon’s summary after finished this book.

 It is novel version of “Yashin no susume.” (From the author interview, 2014, Amazon review)

I did not expect this…but this is one of interesting things about daisy chain reading, unexpected connection.

About content, this is unique Cinderella story. For me, I felt heroine worked her way up from the bottom of fashion industry more passively than in “Yashin no susume”. She just adjusted each situation naturally but every time she earned something in the end. She is maybe real tough one in a true meaning because she got money from rich men as a result of her unawareness mistress. There are a lot of situations like aggressive one got nothing but passive one is beloved somehow.

About person who is off guard, it was written in this book and interesting.

Heroin who steps steadily to the success was hit by unexpected twist at the end. It was very hard to deal with others mind. But even very tough experience, she trough and became much stronger.

If you want Cinderella story with a twist, I recommend this book.
