12/13 スグル～ラママ～MOMA～ACCのパーティー 

夜中、スグルさんとダンス作品の提案について話す。具現化とは何か、フィジカルとオブジェの違いは何か、なぜNYでは踊れるのに東京では踊れないのか...などなど、本当に根源的な話をした。可能性の話は本当に楽しい。

午後はLa mamaに行き、ディレクターのミア・ユーに会う。彼女はこの劇場の創設者エレム・スチュアートから任命された2代目のディレクターだ。

私の自己紹介の後、Lamamaの最近のプロジェクト、例えばCulture Habや、NYCでの考え、アーティスト・コミュニティなどについて話した。LamamaはNYC実験演劇のシンボルのひとつ。この巨大な遺産。デジタル・テクノロジーと演劇パフォーマンスを融合させたカルチャー・ハブなど、その哲学と刷新を受け継いでいる。Lamamaは現在も、アートを通してNYCのコミュニティのみならず、NYCを活性化させるべく、NYCで最もアートなコミュニティに貢献している。そのため、さまざまな世代やコミュニティに働きかけている。

Lamamaの後、MOMAでいくつかのショーを見た。環境の展示は建築に焦点を当てたものだが、建築の展示はあまり好きではなかった。この展覧会では、1960年代のアンナ・ハルプリンのワークショップの写真が展示されていた。そして4階ではトリシャ・ブラウンとゴードン・マッタ＝クラークに焦点を当てた展示があった。壁を歩くトリシャの有名なビデオがある。素晴らしい作品だ。

パーティーの後は、ロッキー記念バドミントンとロッキー記念ナスボールとロッキー記念バレーオールとロッキー記念カラオケ。

12/13 Sugur ~ Lamama ~MOMA ~ ACC’s party 

At midnight, talk with Suguru about our proposal for a dance piece. This first meeting we talked about really foundental things such as what is embodying, what is the difference between physical and object, why I can dance in NY while I can’t dance in Tokyo…etc. When talking about possibilities, it's really fun. 

Afternoon I went to La mama to meet with director Mia Yoo. She is the second director of this theater appointed by the founder elem Stuart. 

After my self introduction, we talked about recent projects in Lamama such as Culture Hab, or thoughts in nyc, artist community and so forth. Lamama is one of the symbols of nyc experimental theater. This huge heritage. She inherited the philosophy and renewal such as culture hub which is the program that combines digital technology and theater performance. Lamama still contribute to the artsiest community in nyc in order to vibrant not only community but also nyc by using art. So they outreach different generations and different communities. 

After the Lamama, I went to MOMA to see some show. Environmental one is exhibition focus on architecture but I never enjoyed architecture’s exhibition. In this show there is a photo about Anna Halprin's workshop in the 1960s. And in the 4th floor there was an exhibition that focused on Trisha Brown and Gordon Matta-Clark. There is a famous video of Trisha walking down the wall. Great work.

After the party we had a Rocky memorial badminton and Rocky memorial nascent ball and rocky memorial valley all and rocky memorial karaoke. 

12/14 8階ギャラリー 

朝、麦子さんと次の企画について話す。東京に帰ったら仕事しよう。でも働きたくない...。

そしてローレンとのセラピーの最終セッション。精神面だけでなく、仕事面でも役に立った。私の思考は本当にふるい落とされた。

チェルシーのカフェで。フィッシュマンズをやっていた。20代の頃よく通っていた東京のレンタルビデオ店、エレファンタスティックを思い出す。プレイリストは一人のスタッフがリストアップしている。彼はドリームポップスが好きらしい。というわけで、スーパーカーの「フューチュラマ」を薦めた。

8階のギャラリーで。この派手なギャラリーでは、レイリの友人であるニコール・グッドウィンのパフォーマンスがある。このパフォーマンスは、私とチェットにとって、ニューヨークでのベスト・パフォーマンスのひとつだ。ニコールは兵役の後、摂食障害になった。彼女の体は "普通 "ではない。彼女は床に這いつくばって観客に助けを求めるが、事前にいくつかの指示がある。芸術家は人間ではない』という指示だ。観客が見て見ぬふりをする中、彼女は私たちひとりひとりに、そして私たち全員に助けを求めた。ホームレスやジャニーズ、貧困にあえぐ人々に対する私たちの扱いを思い起こさせる。この無視は、私が慣れてしまったものだった。この指示、あるいはこの演技台本は、ニューヨーク（と東京）での演技のやり方なのだ。驚いた。

チェット、シー・ヤン、レイリと遊んだ後、マリンのお母さんと飲んだ。その後、マチ、チンメイも加わってカラオケパーティー。カントニーの曲を歌った。

12/14 8th floor gallery 

Talk with Mugiko about the next project in the morning. I should work after I go back to Tokyo. But I don’t want to work…

Then the last session of my therapy with Lauren. It was helpful not only for my mental but also my professional practice. My thoughts were really sifted. 

In the cafe in Chelsea. They played fish mans. It reminds me elephantastic which is the rental video shop in Tokyo I used to go to a lot in my 20s. The playlist is listed by one staff. He seems like dream pop music. So I recommended ‘Futurama' by supercar. 

In the 8th floor gallery. In this fancy gallery that actually focuses on activism has a performance by Nicole Goodwin who is Leili’s friend. The performance is one of the best so far in NYc for me and Chet. Nicole has eating disorder after the military service. Her body is not ‘normal’. She crawls on the floor and asks the audience for help but there are some instructions delivered beforehand. This instruction says ‘the artist is not human’. While the audience pretended to ignore, she asked for help each of us and all of us. It remind us how we treat homeless, janky, people in poverty. This ignorance was the thing that I have got used to.This instructions or to say this acting script is the way of acting in NYC (and Tokyo). It was astonishing. 

After hanging out with Chet and Shih Yang and Leili, we had a drink with Marin’s mom. After that karaoke party Machi, Qingmei joined. They sang some Kantonies songs. 

12/15 アジア演劇読書会〜ピーターの晩餐会

CUNYのアジア演劇読書会に参加。今日はベルギーの演劇研究家、岩城恭子さんの論文を2本読みました。難しい言葉を選びながら、日本の演劇について書かれている。なんとなく理解できた。 

読書会では、愛知トリエンナーレの背景を少し説明した。彼女はなぜアジアを定義しなかったのだろう。地理的にはトルコやアラブ諸国、中央アジアを指す。彼女は主に東南アジアに焦点を当てている。

読書会の後、ピーターはリオのダニエル、上海のラリオ、北京のシューマン、スペインのマリアといった客員研究員を招いた。実は私は客員学者ではないのだが（学者でもないのに）、今学期の彼の授業に参加する許可をいただいた。ニューヨークでのまぶしい経験のひとつである。演劇にまつわるいろいろな話をした。

12/15 Asian theater reading group ~ Peter’s dinner

in CUNY I attend a Asian theater reading group. Today we read two article from Kyoko iwaki who is the Japanese theater scholar in belg. She choose really difficult word but the articles about Japanese theater. Somehow I could understand maybe perhaps.  

I gave some background about the Aichi triennial during the reading group. I wonder why she didn’t define Asia. Geographically it means Turkish and some Arabic country and Central Asia. She mainly focuses on southeast Asia in her text. 

After the reading group Peter invited us visiting scholars including Daniel from Rio, Lalio from Shanghai, Schuman from Beijing and Maria from Spain. Actually I’m not a visiting scholar ( even though I am not a scholar) , he gave permission to attend his class this semester. It was one of the glare of experience in NYC. We talked about a lot of things related to the theater.

Peterのクラスでは、OOO(object oriented ontology)というポスト・ヒューマン思想のキーワードについて何人かが話していた。日本語の記事もいくつか読んだけど、やっぱり僕には難しい。

In Peter's class, some people talked about OOO(object oriented ontology) which is the key word for post human thoughts but actually I have no   idea about it. I read some articles about this idea in Japanese but still it is difficult to understand for me. 

12/17 チェット、ファンガスとハングアウト

チェットとファンガスとチャイナタウンでハングアウト。ファンガスは最近台湾の有名バンドのMVの振り付けをやっていて忙しい。あと2週間で、僕らの期間は終わる。イベントに参加するよりも、ニューヨークで友達を増やしたい。チェットが初めて日本に来たときは、フジロックフェスティバルとサマーソニック2003に行った。二人ともビョーク、レディオヘッド、イギー・ポップ、プライマル・スクリームを同時に見たんだ。

スグルとダンスの打ち合わせ。同じ考えを持っていても、使う言葉が違うと面白い。その違いが、私たちの考えを違うものにしていく。

12/17 Hangout with Chet and Fangas

Hangout in Chinatown with Chet and Fang as. Fangas has been busy recently because he works for Taiwanese famous band's MV as choreographer. In two weeks our period will over. I'd like to make more friends in NYC than to attend the event. The first time Chet came to Japan, he went to the Fuji rock festival and Summer sonic 2003 which I also attended. Both of us saw Bjork, Radiohead, Iggy Pop, and Primal scream at the same time.

Meeting with Suguru, about dance. I am interested when we have the same idea but we use different words. This difference leads us to different thoughts.
