今回は、ただの旅行記ではない、奥能登の地で繰り広げられた一期一会のアート体験についてお話ししたいと思います。

奥能登芸術祭2023—この名を聞いただけで、想像力が駆り立てられる方も多いことでしょう。私もその一人です。この芸術祭は、ただの展示会ではありません。自然と人間の共生を見つめ直し、生きること、自然とは何かを問い直す、触発される場でした。

この芸術祭の趣旨は、芸術を通じて、人間と自然の関係性を探求することと感じました。

奥能登という土地は、古くから自然と共存してきた歴史を持ちます。荒波にもまれながらも、人々はここで生活を営み、文化を育んできました。芸術祭は、そんな土地の息吹を、現代アートという形で昇華させていました。

会場を歩いていると、まず感じるのは、自然が作り出す芸術の美しさ。岩肌に映る影、風に揺れる草木、光と影が織りなすパターン。これらは、人の手が加えられる前の、純粋な自然のアートです。そして、そこに、アーティストたちの手によって加えられた作品が調和し、新たな命を吹き込まれているのです。

一つ一つの作品には、その場所の物語が込められています。海岸線に設置されたインスタレーション。昔ながらの暮らしと信仰を彷彿とさせる作品が、訪れる者に時間を超えた体験を提供してくれます。

私が特に心を動かされたのは、古民家を改装したギャラリーでの展示です。そこでは、能登で生きる人がつかっていた船と現代アートの作品が展示。その地に息づく生活と、そこで生きる人々の営み、そしてアートが見事に融合していました。木の温もり、土の香り、そして、そこに宿る物語。作品を通して、能登の自然が私たちに問いかけてくるのです。「生きるとは何か」「自然とは何か」

この旅で私は、感性を刺激され、自分自身と向き合い、多くの問いを持ち帰りました。奥能登芸術祭2023は、ただのアートイベントではなく、自己探求の旅であり、心の洗濯ができる場所だったのです。

SNSでこの体験を共有することに、少しの躊躇もありました。なぜなら、写真やテキストで表現できる範囲は限られており、本当の感動はその場でしか味わえないからです。しかし、もし私の言葉が一人でも多くの方の心に響き、この奥能登の地を訪れるきっかけになればと思います。

芸術は、時に言葉では表せない深い感情を呼び覚ますもの。奥能登芸術祭2023で私が体験したのは、まさにそのことでした。皆さんも、この地で新たな物語に触れ、自分自身の感性を刺激する旅をしてみませんか？次の開催は3年後とのこと　一緒に能登を旅してみませんか。

Hello, everyone. Today, I want to talk about more than just a travelogue. It's about a once-in-a-lifetime art experience that unfolded in the depths of Oku-Noto.

Oku-Noto Art Festival 2023—just hearing this name may stir the imagination of many. I am one of those people. This festival is not just an exhibition. It was a provoking space where we revisited the coexistence of nature and humans, and questioned what it means to live and what nature is.

I felt that the purpose of this art festival was to explore the relationship between humans and nature through art.

The land of Oku-Noto has a history of coexisting with nature. Despite the rough waves, people have lived here and nurtured a culture. The art festival sublimated the breath of such a place into the form of contemporary art.

Walking around the venue, the first thing you feel is the beauty of the art created by nature itself. Shadows cast on the rocky surfaces, plants swaying in the wind, patterns formed by light and shadow. These are the art of pure nature, before any human hand has touched it. Then, the works added by the artists harmonize with this and are infused with new life.

Each piece of work contains the story of its location. Installations set up along the coastline. Works reminiscent of the traditional way of life and beliefs offer visitors a timeless experience.

What particularly moved me was the exhibition in a renovated old house. There, boats used by the people living in Noto and contemporary art pieces were on display. The local life, the activities of the people living there, and the art were beautifully integrated. The warmth of the wood, the scent of the soil, and the stories they harbor. Through the works, the nature of Noto poses questions to us: "What is living?" "What is nature?"

In this journey, I was stimulated in my sensibilities, confronted myself, and returned with many questions. The Oku-Noto Art Festival 2023 was not just an art event, but a journey of self-exploration and a place where one could cleanse the soul.

I hesitated a little to share this experience on social media. Because the scope of expression through photos and texts is limited, and the true emotion can only be experienced on-site. However, if my words resonate with even one person and inspire them to visit this land of Oku-Noto, then I am pleased.

Art sometimes awakens deep emotions that cannot be expressed in words. What I experienced at the Oku-Noto Art Festival 2023 was precisely that.
