お弁当作りは朝起きて歯を磨くのと同じくらい、当たり前の習慣だ。
結婚するまでは自分ひとりの、結婚してからは夫と自分、そして今は子供と夫のお弁当。子供たちにお弁当が必要な日は特に気合が入る。

お弁当を開ける時の何ともいえないワクワクした気持ちが好き。
自作のお弁当でさえ、お弁当箱を開けたときは何だかとてもハッピーな気分になる。母になって、子供たちがお弁当箱を開けた時の気持ちを考えながら過ごすお昼は私にとってもステキな時間になる。

日本人なら誰でも家族が作ってくれたお弁当を食べた経験があると思う。
どんなお弁当だったとしても、あたたかい気持ちになるものではないかな、と個人的には思っている。

TikTokでごくごく普通（と日本人は思う）お弁当の開封動画が世界でバズっているらしい。小さい箱の中に丁寧に詰められたおかずたちは海外の人から見ると「Amazing!」であり「Crazy!」なのだそうだ。

何でもない日常を丁寧に生きる。
（実際はかなり手抜きだったとしても、なお）
そんな日本人の感覚は世界に誇れるものだと思う。

For me, making Obento boxes is as much of a routine as waking up in the morning and brushing my teeth. Before getting married, it was a solitary habit, but after marriage, it became about preparing lunches for both my husband and myself. Now, with children in the picture, I find a special determination on the days when their Obento is a necessity.

I love the indescribable excitement that comes when opening a bento box. Even with a lunch I've prepared myself, there's a distinct happiness that washes over me when I open the box. As a mother, spending midday considering the feelings my children experience when they open their lunch boxes is a wonderful time.

I believe that most Japanese people have experienced eating a lunch prepared by their family. Regardless of the contents, it tends to evoke warm feelings. Personally, I think it's a universal sentiment.

Apparently, on TikTok, videos of very ordinary (at least, according to Japanese standards) Obento box openings have become a global sensation. The carefully packed dishes in these small boxes are perceived by people from other countries as "Amazing!" and even "Crazy!"

Living each ordinary day with care, even if it may be quite relaxed in reality－such a sensibility of the Japanese, I believe, is something to be proud of on a global scale.
