軽い詩 嘆き食い light verse whine-eater

When another man says to me

"Maybe sometimes it is enough,

Maybe it is good, and time to let go"

In reply, I barked at him deafening senseless,

and snarled my big white teeth;

in a tongue they'd understand.

I am hungry, and if thou wouldst deny me food,

I would bite mud, tree bark, snakes, grass and wyrms

I wil drink up river or lake or ocean.

I will swallow up the Sun or the Moon high above.

If that is not yet enough, mayhap also you.

Do not assume, that when you have got enough for your appetite,

The man before you is not hungry.

Man did murder for bread. I wonder what they would do for wine (for their whine!).
