Your grades have been announced. How was everyone?

There are only about three weeks left of the summer vacation. (crying)

Let's get our minds and habits back in order for the new semester!

と言うことで！今月のテーマが「本」なので「おすすめの本を書こう」と思ったのですが、

前回の投稿でしほさんがおすすめの本を紹介をしてくれたので

今回は、「しゅんすけが素敵な本達と出会うまで」を我ながらに辿っていこうと思います〜！

The theme of this month's post is "Books", so I thought I'd write about some book recommendations, but Shiho-san recommended some books in her last post.

This time I'd like to retrace the story of how Shunsuke met some wonderful books~!

私が素敵な本との出会いを果たしたのは、「高校三年生」の時でした…。

もともと小学生から本は少しだけ読んでいたけど、「本を読むくらいなら外で遊ぶ！」

と言う The アウトドア人間だったから、多くの本を集中して読むことはなっかったのね。

今振り返ると、小学校の時から「体のつくり」とか、「スポーツ系」の本をひたすらに読み漁っていたなぁ。

It was during my "senior year of high school" that I had my first encounter with a wonderful book.

I had always read a few books since elementary school, but I was an outdoor person who would rather play outside than reading. So, I didn't read many books intensively.

Now that I look back, I have been reading books on "bodybuilding" and "sports" since elementary school.

小学校から高校までスポーツをしていたから、偏ったジャンルの本を読み漁っていました。笑

小説・評論文とかも学校で読まされるだけで、自分から積極的に読むことはなかったの。

でも人生スポーツだけで生きていくのは難しく、

学生のうちって勉強の方が大事じゃないですか。

高校から大学に行く際にみんな受ける試験。そうです。

あの行事が来てしまったのです。

I played sports from elementary school to high school, so I read a lot of books in a biased genre.

I was only forced to read novels and critiques for classes, and never actively read on my own.

But it's hard to live a life based on sports alone, and studying is more important when you're a student.

The exams that everyone takes when they go from high school to college. That's right. That event had come and gone.

中学・高校と日本語の羅列を避けながら生きてきた私に「大学入試」がやってきました。

私の場合、大学入試はAO入試で合格をもらって、10月ぐらいには受験が終わってしまったから、大学入学までの時間がかなり空いてしまったの。

本当にやることが無くなって、せっかくなら本でも読んでみるか。っていうのが始まり！

そこで初めて運命的な出会いを果たした本が、村上春樹さんの

「四月のある晴れた朝に100％の女の子と出会うことについて」です！

The "University entrance examination" has come to me, after having lived through junior high and high school avoiding the Japanese sentences.

In my case, I passed the university entrance exam through an AO (admissions office entrance exam), and the exam was over by October, so I had a lot of free time before entering university.

I really had nothing to do, so I decided to read a book. That's how it all started.

That's when I had my first fateful encounter with Haruki Murakami's

村上春樹さんの短編小説です！これを見た瞬間に、村上ワールドにハマってしまった！

『ある晴れた四月の竹下通り裏で、私は100%の女の子とすれ違う』

簡単に説明したら、この一行でまとめられる内容なの。本当にわかりやすいよね〜

でも、その時に抱く心情・喉の渇き具合・好みのタイプ・変な妄想などなど

さまざまな情景・心情描写を交えながら話が進行していきます。

簡単に述べていけばすぐに完結する文章を、あえて長い表現にして話しているのに、

酷い仕上がりにならない…。

It's a short story by Haruki Murakami. The moment I saw this, I was hooked on the Murakami world!

"On a sunny April day, behind Takeshita Street, I pass by 100% girls.

If I were to explain it simply, it could be summed up in this one line.

It's really easy to understand, isn't it?

But the feelings, thirst, type of girl you like, weird fantasies, etc.

The story progresses with various scenes and emotional descriptions.

The sentences could be completed quickly if they were simply stated, but I'm daring to use a long expression, and it's not a terrible finish.

偶然の出会いってあるんですね。

実はこの本、学校から配布された教材に短編小説が沢山入っていて、

タイトルが面白そうだから読んでみた！と言うのが出会いの始まり…。

出会いを求めていた高校青春ど真ん中の自分にタイトルの何かが刺さったのかもしれません笑

There are such things as chance encounters.

Actually, this book was one of the teaching materials distributed by the school, which contained many short stories, and the title sounded interesting, so I read it! That was the beginning of our encounter.

I was in the middle of my high school adolescence, looking for an encounter, and something about the title might have stuck with me.

未だにその感覚を覚えているんだけど…

村上春樹さんの描写のうまさに本当に感動してしまった！

普通の暮らしの現象を考えたことのないような角度から比喩表現に喩えて表現する。

読書の中に新しい創造の楽しみを見つけることができる一冊でした〜

I still remember that feeling, but Haruki Murakami really impressed me with his descriptive prowess!

He describes the phenomena of ordinary life in metaphorical expressions from an angle that I had never thought of before.

It was a book that allowed me to find a new creative pleasure in reading.

「すごい。本って面白いかも？」って思った江森は本屋さんで色々な本を買って読んでみました。

でも、ここで「分厚い本を読み切ることができない！」という事件が発覚。

未だにページ数のある本を読んでいると、途中で飽きてしまったり

「こいつ誰だ？」ってなってしまったりします。共感してくれる人いますか？？

皆さん、分量の多い本はどうやって攻略してるのか。すごく気になる！

ぜひ私に情報提供をお願いします…。笑

I thought, "Wow. Maybe books are interesting” so I went to the bookstore and bought

various books and tried to read them.

But then there was an incident that made it impossible to finish reading a thick book!

I still get bored in the middle of reading a book with a lot of pages, or

I wonder "who is this guy?”Does anyone have any sympathy for me?

How do you guys attack books with a lot of pages? I'm really curious!

Please give me some advice!
