I have prepared to the presentation about art.

What dose it look like?

This is not only sculpture, but also Headdresses when dancers to dance. These was created by JAMES ESELI and made by hybiscus woods.

ESELI was born at Badu Island in1929. This island is a part of Torres Strait Islands between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

When I looked this art works, I was scared. Because felt like being attacked from the sky.

Japanese and Australian bombers  conducted the dogfights in the skies above Torres Strait Islands during Second World War. Horn island that is also a part of this islands is bombed eight times by Japanese forces. Because there is strategic base of Australia. These attack is the second biggest one in the Australian territory during Second World War.

ESELI is choreograph the dance to commemorate this bombing. This dance is called Airplane Dance.

Dancers be worn that headdress and move in a battle style formation like the dogfights.

In my opinion, When We study or work in another countries, We should to know our countries past and sins. Some country was forced to change by our country.

I need to study more to know my country’s history and sins.
