GWには皆さま外出して、JR静岡駅前の家康公像をご覧になることがあるかもしれません。

徳川家康公が駿府を治めていたのは、江戸時代が初めてではありません。戦国時代の1573年から1592年の天正時代、その間の5年ほど（1586~1590）家康公は駿府を拠点としています。これが五か国統治時代です。

JR静岡駅前の家康公はこの天正期のお姿。時代の歴史的背景を整とんしてみましょう。

Sumpu's ruling in the Tensho period (1586-1590)　Part1

天正期の駿府の統治（1586年から1590年）　　パート１

Sumpu was famous as the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu spent his last ten years of his life after his retirement of the shogun.

駿府は徳川家康が将軍引退後、晩年の10年間を過ごした場所として有名です。

Tokugawa Ieyasu first ruled Sumpu from 1586 to 1590.

徳川家康は1586年から1590年の間、初めて駿府を治めました。

At that time, Tokugawa Ieyasu was still under the control of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

当時、徳川家康はまだ豊臣秀吉の支配下にありました。

In 1575, allied forces of Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated the Takeda clan in the Battle of Nagashino.

1575年、織田信長と徳川家康の連合軍は長篠の合戦で武田家を打ち破りました。

This battle is very crucial as it was the first and biggest successful case where matchlock guns were effectively used.

この戦いは火縄銃が活用された最初で最も成功した事例としてとても重要です。

In 1582, Takeda Katsuyori, the last leader of the Takeda clan, finally passed away due to the battle in Mt. Tenmoku in Kai province.

1582年、武田家最後の当主である武田勝頼は、ついに甲斐の天目山の合戦でこの世を去ります。

Tokugawa Ieyasu was given four provinces by Oda Nobunaga: Mikawa ,Suruga, Totomi, and Kai.

徳川家康は織田信長から4か国を与えられました。三河、駿河、遠江、そして甲斐です。

In the same year, 1582, Oda Nobunaga was assassinated at Honnoji Temple in Kyoto by Akechi Mitsuhide.

同じく1582年に、織田信長は明智光秀に京都本能寺で暗殺されました。

As the result, the province of Shinano lost its ruler（Oda Nobunaga）, so Tokugawa Ieyasu wisely claimed this region as his territory.

その結果、信濃がその統治者（信長）を失い、そのため、徳川家康がこの地方を自身の領地として手に入れました。

Tokugawa Ieyasu transferred from Hamamatsu castle to Sumpu castle in Decembe 1586.

徳川家康は1586年の12月に浜松城から駿府城に移りました。

He made Sumpu the local headquarter to control the five provinces.

家康公は駿府を5か国統治のための本拠地としました。
