小学生にとって楽しいはずの夏休みの日々は
つまらないラジオ体操から始まるのだった。

朝早く起こされ、近所の広場に集められ　
ラジオから流れる演奏と掛け声にあわせ　

体を動かして、なにが楽しいのか。

カードにスタンプもらって、なにが嬉しいのか。

それはともかく
忘れられない奇妙な思い出がひとつだけある。

ラジオ体操が始まる少し前
僕たちは農協のシャッターを背に立っていた。

目の前には田園風景が広がっていた。
その上には空があった。

空にはいくつかの雲が浮かび　
そのひとつの雲が太陽を隠していた。

太陽が徐々に昇り、雲の上から顔を出すか
という瞬間、太陽が炎となって燃え上がった。

丸めたティッシュペーパーに点火した感じ。

太陽の直径の倍くらいの高さまで炎が上がり　
メラメラと聖火台の聖火さながらだった。

みんな、ワアワア騒いだ。

直射日光が焼けるような熱さで顔面を照らし
本当にやけどしそうだった。

時間にして、わずか数秒くらいだったと思う。

すぐに太陽はありふれた朝日になり　
僕たちはラジオ体操なんか始めてしまい　

「なんだか変な夢見ちゃったな」と

小学生のありきたりな夏休みの一日に
溶け込んでしまったのだった。

あれは、なんだったのだろう。

気象に詳しい方なら

The days of summer vacation that should be fun for
elementary school students began with boring radio exercises.

The flame rose to a height about twice the diameter of the sun,
as if it were an Olympic torch.

Everyone gave a loud noise.

Direct sunlight burned my face with burning heat
and it seemed like I was really burned.

I think that it was about several seconds in time.

Soon the sun became a common morning sun,
we started the radio exercises and it blended into the day
of the primary school student's universal summer vacation,
"It was somewhat strange dream."
