自由になりたいと
群れから離れて
海に出た

In search of freedom
I moved away from the herd 
and I went out to ocean 

木の葉のように
波に揺られながら
大海を漂った 

Like a leaf 
I drifted about 
at the mercy of the waves 

見渡す限り、波、波、波
まわりには誰もいない
上空にはカモメが見えた

All I could see was just wave after wave  There was nobody around me 
but I could see some seagulls
in the firmament 

君には君の人生があり
僕には僕の人生がある
二度と交わることはないだろう 

You live your life 
and I live my life 
We will not get together again 

けれども
君がため息をつき
僕が海に落ちたなら
大気と海の振動が
かすかにお互いを
感ぜしめるかもしれない

But when you give a sigh 
and I drown in the ocean 
the slight air vibration
and the slight water vibration 
might make us seem a bit closer
