前回の読書ノートで少し紹介を
させていただいたのですが、
昨年末に仕事の一環で実施した
「従業員のモチベーション」に関する分析で
興味深い分析結果が出たので、
大学の先生が共著で論文にしてくださり、
それが無事に受理されたことで、
3月6日よりイギリスのケンブリッジ大学で
開催される学会に参加する事になりました。

肝心のプレゼンは私の大先輩がすることになり、
私はリスナーとして学会に参加するので、
当初は気楽に考えていました。

しかし、よくよく考えると…
会社の経費で行くため、帰国後に上司や
チームメンバーに出張報告をする必要があり、
学会で、他の方々の論文の発表内容が
聞き取れなかったら出張報告のレポートに
何も書けない…という大変マズいことに…😱

ということで、急遽ですが
読書ノートの更新頻度を下げてでも、
2月は英語力の強化月間にしようと考えました。

まずは自分の言いたいことをDeepL翻訳を
駆使しながら、一方通行でも良いので
何とか英語で話せるように準備をする！
ということからスタートしようと思います。

残り33日間！！
イギリス英語の発音にも慣れておきたい…
なんて高望みはせずに、
まずは耳と口を英語に慣らしていく
という基礎的なことから始めてみます。

そして何ともラッキーなことに、
英会話のイーオンのオンラインレッスン券が
年末の何かの抽選で当たっていたことを思い出し、
早速、今夜の英会話レッスンを予約しました。
（なんと、20分×4回分が無料という有難さ！！）

ということで、今日はこの辺にして、
この後の英会話レッスンのための
自己紹介の準備をしようと思います。

I will study English intensively today for my business trip to the UK!

As I introduced a little in my last reading note, an analysis on 'employee motivation' conducted as part of my work at the end of last year produced some interesting results, so my university professor co-authored a paper on it, which was successfully accepted. I will attend a conference at Cambridge University in the UK from 6 March.

I initially took it easy as the presentation would be given by a senior colleague of mine and I would be attending the conference as a listener.

However, when I thought about it... since I was going on a company-funded trip, I had to report on the business trip to my boss and team members after returning home, and if I couldn't hear the other people's paper presentations at the conference, I can not write anything in my business trip report... 😱

So, even if I had to reduce the frequency of my reading notebook updates at short notice, I decided to make February the month to strengthen my English language skills.

First of all, I will prepare myself to speak English somehow, even if it is one-way, by using the DeepL translation of what I want to say!

33 days left!
I would like to get used to British English pronunciation... Don't get my hopes too high, but start with the basics of getting your ears and mouth used to English.

Then, quite luckily, I remembered that I had won an online lesson voucher from AEON English Conversation in some end-of-year raffle, so I immediately booked an English conversation lesson for tonight.
(Oh my goodness, I got four free 20-minute lessons!)

So that's about it for today, I'm going to prepare my self-introduction for the English conversation lesson that follows.
