A while ago, I read a novel, "Tsukino Michikake," "Phases of the Moon."
The work became a movie and received many prizes at Japan Academy Award.
Of course, the original novel also received a famous prize, "Naokisho."
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'll try to make a summary.
The theme of the story was reincarnation.
It contains spoilers, in just case.

The first Ruri had a husband, but she fell in love with a university student "Misumi."
Unfortunately, she passed away due to a train accident.
When she was alive, she told him, "I'll reincarnate again and again like the phases of the moon, and I'll appear to see you."

The second Ruri suddenly started speaking about complicated things the child never knew after having a high fever.
She lost and got police protection when she tried to get somewhere.
She promised her mom never to go anywhere alone until high school graduation.
Finally, she graduated from senior high, and she and her mom drove on the way somewhere; they caused a car accident and passed away.

The third Ruri didn't appear in the movie, though, named Nozomi.
Her parents wanted to call her Ruri, but her grandparents refused, so she named Nozomi.
However, she remembered the name "Ruri" and memories of her previous life.
she passed away due to a car accident on the way somewhere.

The fourth Ruri remembered the second Ruri's dad, and finally, she could reunite with her loved one "Misumi."

Although all of Ruri had different faces, they had the same habit, so Misumi could realize she was his loved one.

In addition, they tried to see him, but unfortunately, on the way, they passed away.
Moreover, the second Ruri's mom reincarnated too.

There were many more foreshadowings and other characters, so the story was complicated.
