9月27日から29日まで東京ビッグサイトで開催された国際福祉機器展 H.C.R.2023。この展示会では、ハンドメイドの自助具から最先端技術を活用したロボット介護機器まで、世界の福祉機器が一堂に集められました。その中でも、カラフルな車いすとOXの車いすについて紹介したいと思います。
H.C.R. 2023, the International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition, was held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 27 to 29. This exhibition brought together a wide range of welfare equipment from around the world, from handmade self-help devices to robot care equipment utilizing cutting-edge technology. まず、カラフルな車いすとして目を引いたのが、ユニバーサルデザイン・ジャパンが出展した「カラフルホイール」。この製品は、車いすのホイールに色とりどりのカバーを取り付けることで、自分好みのデザインに変えられるものです。カバーは、簡単に着脱できる上に、汚れや傷からホイールを保護する効果もあります。また、カバーは、無地やストライプ、チェックなどの柄や、キャラクターや写真などのオリジナルデザインも選べます。さらに、カバーには反射材やLEDライトを付けることもでき、夜間の視認性や安全性も向上します。このように、「カラフルホイール」は、車いすの見た目を楽しく変えるだけでなく、実用性も高める画期的な製品です。
The first colorful wheelchair that caught our attention was the "Colorful Wheel" exhibited by Universal Design Japan. This product allows users to change the design of their wheelchair wheels to their own liking by attaching colorful covers to them. The covers can be easily attached and removed and also protect the wheels from dirt and scratches. The covers can be plain, striped, checked, or other patterns, as well as original designs such as characters or photos. In addition, the covers can be fitted with reflective materials and LED lights for improved nighttime visibility and safety. In this way, "Colorful Wheel" is a revolutionary product that not only changes the appearance of wheelchairs in a fun way, but also enhances their practicality.

次に、OXの車いすとして注目したのが、オーエックスエンジニアリングが出展した「REV」。この車いすは、競技用車両開発部門が手掛けた日常用電動車いすです。この車いすは、競技用車両からフィードバックされた機能性、耐久性、デザイン性を備えており、俊敏な回頭性や安定した走行性を実現しています。また、バッテリー残量や速度などの情報を表示する液晶パネルや、USB充電ポートなどの便利な機能も備えています。さらに、色や柄も豊富に揃っており、コーディネートの幅が広がります。このように、「REV」は、高性能で快適な走行性能を持つ電動車いすです。
The next OX wheelchair that caught our attention was the "REV" exhibited by OX Engineering. This wheelchair is an electric wheelchair for daily use created by the competition vehicle development division. This wheelchair is equipped with functionality, durability, and design features that were fed back from competition vehicles, and it offers agile turning and stable traveling performance. It also has convenient features such as an LCD panel that displays information such as battery level and speed, and a USB charging port. Furthermore, it is available in a wide range of colors and patterns, allowing for a wider range of coordination. Thus, "REV" is an electric wheelchair with high performance and comfortable traveling performance.

H.C.R.2023では、これら以外にも多くの魅力的な車いすが展示されていました。福祉機器の進化は、障害者や高齢者の生活の質を向上させるだけでなく、社会の多様性や包摂性を高めることにも繋がります。今後も、福祉機器の最新情報に注目していきたいです。

「いのち輝くアート展」は、障害者や病気と闘う人たちが作った作品を展示するイベントです。このイベントは、国際福祉機器展の併催イベントとして、2023年9月27日から29日まで東京ビッグサイトで開催されました。このイベントの目的は、アートの力によって障害や病気を乗り越える人たちの生きる意志や可能性を伝えるとともに、社会の理解や共感を促すことです。
The "Shining Art for Life" event showcases artwork created by people with disabilities and those struggling with illnesses. This event was held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 27 to 29, 2023 as a co-located event of the International Welfare Equipment Exhibition. The purpose of this event is to communicate the will to live and possibilities of people overcoming disabilities and illnesses through the power of art, as well as to promote social understanding and empathy.

「いのち輝くアート展」には、以下の2つのコーナーがありました。

• 「フクシ × デザイン = 可能性」

  • このコーナーでは、障害者が描いた絵を専門学生がフォント化やパターン化し、企業や個人が使用できるパブリックデータ「シブヤフォント」として公開したプロジェクトが紹介されました。このプロジェクトは、障害者と地域や企業を結ぶ活動として、一般社団法人シブヤフォントが運営しています。
    In this section, a project in which drawings by people with disabilities were converted into fonts and patterns by specialized students and released as public data "Shibuyafont" for use by companies and individuals was introduced. This project is operated by the general incorporated association SibuyaFont as an activity to connect people with disabilities with local communities and businesses.

  • 「金澤翔子展 書と生命」
    Shoko Kanazawa Exhibition: Calligraphy and Life

    • このコーナーでは、書道家の金澤翔子さんの作品を展示されました。金澤さんは、身体全体を使ってダイナミックかつ繊細な書線を描くことで、言葉の意味だけではなく、作品から力強いエネルギーを放つような書を特徴としています。また、9月27日には上揮毫（書道実演）も行われました。
      In this section, the works of calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa were exhibited. Ms. Kanazawa uses her entire body to create dynamic yet delicate calligraphic lines, which are characterized not only by the meaning of the words, but also by the powerful energy that radiates from her works. In addition, on September 27, she also gave a Kamigayo (calligraphy demonstration).

「いのち輝くアート展」は、アートに関わる方々のお話しや対話も行われるなど、多彩なプログラムで来場者に「いのち」を感じさせるイベントです。

「金澤翔子展 書と生命」は、ダウン症という障害を持ちながらも、「生きたい」という強い意志と「書」への情熱で活躍する金澤さんの姿に触れることができる展覧会でした。金澤さんの書は、「いのち」そのものを表現しており、見る者に感動や勇気を与えます。この展覧会は、障害や病気に直面する人たちの「いのち」の表現に触れることで、自分自身の「いのち」についても考えさせられる貴重な機会となりました。
”Shoko Kanazawa Exhibition: Calligraphy and Life" was an exhibition that allowed visitors to experience Ms. Kanazawa's strong will to live and her passion for "calligraphy" despite her disability of Down syndrome. Ms. Kanazawa's calligraphy expresses "life" itself, inspiring and encouraging the viewer. This exhibition was a valuable opportunity for us to experience the expression of "life" by people facing disabilities and illnesses, and to think about our own "life" as well.
